Apologies if I'm missing something, but as far as I can see, at least
compared to the existing package, you didn't remove the clutter; if
anything, you added it.

Comparing the package currently in stable with the one you uploaded:

adsb@franck:~$ find maitreya-6.0.5-2/ -name '*.orig'| wc -l
0
adsb@franck:~$ find maitreya-6.0.5+dfsg/ -name '*.orig'| wc -l
30
