I'd prefer to skip the parenthesised section; it's not really of
interest or relevance to users of the package.

That's a somewhat odd wording, imho; at the very least, it should
mention #670246.  (Also s/anoying/annoying/.)

Other than that, please go ahead, and thanks for fixing bugs in stable.
