Dear release team,

I'd like to request a transition slot for evolution 3.8 and
evolution-data-server 3.8, which are one of the last missing bits for
getting GNOME 3.8 into unstable.

To build evolution/evolution-data-server 3.8, we will need newer
versions of libgweather and gtkhtml4.0, so I'd upload those
libraries as well.
folks from unstable will FTBFS against eds 3.8, a fixed version of folks
is available in experimental. That in turn makes empathy from unstable
FTBFS, so I'd upload empathy 3.8 from experimental as well. That in turn
needs telepathy-farstream from experimental, which is another tiny
transition. Backporting all the various changes requires quite a bit of
work, so I'd like to do those transitions all in one go. Julien was so
kind and already setup a transition tracker for it [0].

The ones which I could successfully binNMU were:
mail-notification
xiphos
ekiga
libreoffice

All other packages needs sourceful uploads or be removed from testing.
I've filed corresponding bug reports for that [1].

The rough plan looks like this
- Upload libgweather 3.8 and gtkhtml 4.6 to unstable (ready in
  experimental)
- Upload evolution-data-server 3.8 to unstable (ready in experimental)
- Upload evolution 3.8, folks 0.9 and telepathy-farstream 0.6 to
  unstable (ready in experimental)
- binNMU above packages
- upload or remove the remaining packages:
  * evolution-mapi is ready in experimental but currently blocked by
samba4 → remove from testing for now
  * evolution-exchange, dead upstream, unmaintained and superseded by
    evolution-ews, RM bug filed
  * evolution-ews 3.8 is ready in experimental, needs supload to
    unstable
  * evolution-rss 0.3.93 is ready in experimental, needs upload
    to unstable
  * evolution-webcal, currently unmaintained, might still be useful
though, so remove from testing for now
  * nautilus-sendto 3.6 is ready in experimental, needs upload
    to unstable
  * gnome-contacts 3.8 is ready in experimental. needs upload to
    unstable
  * gnome-shell 3.4: I backported fixes to make it build against eds 3.8,
is ready in pkg-gnome SVN and needs a sourceful upload.
  * gnome-panel 3.4:, needs fixes to build against newer libgweather and eds
3.8. Upstream has fixed that, so we just need to cherry-pick those
    patches.
  * empathy 3.8 is ready in experimental, needs upload to unstable.
  * obexd has reverse dependencies, so can't easily be removed. EDS
support can be disabled though. Needs sourceful upload.
  * glables fixed in experimental, needs upload to unstable.

All other packages look like they could be removed from testing
temporarily or removed completely.

Michael
