(just a quick remark about libtiff4 vs. libtiff5 itself)

I didn't follow very closely, but I think tiff is getting symbols
versioning; I also think libtiff5 was the first package to have it; so
if packages are rebuilt against a symbols versioning-enable libtiff4
(which you can track at [1], that should be OK?
