boinc-app-seti is (sadly) not in testing, as you said. boinc instead is in testing - just in a somewhat oldish (7.0.27, 5 month ago) version now. We would very much like to update that. 7.0.3x is tested extensively in the Ubuntu community, which is sharing the git repository with us. Quite some user-sensative bugs are fixed in that version.

It just feels bad when the Debian folks are doing the packaging work and the Ubuntu users profit from it, not even in unstable. And we cannot get it into backports either.
