Hi Release Team,

I would like to talk to you about "our particular pony"[1] for Wheezy.

Jakub Adam (CC'ed) and I have been looking at including Eclipse 3.8
(Juno) in Wheezy. The release date for Eclipse 3.8 is the 27th of
June, which is probably after we freeze "in June".

We believe that this should be doable from our PoV and Jakub reported
we nearly got all of eclipse 3.8's dependencies ready. To our
knowledge the current eclipse packages are compatible with 3.8, but we
will upload 3.8 snapshots to experimental to test this.

We will also like to take oppertunity to include a couple of eclipse
projects participating the "Juno simultaneous release"[2]. At the
moment, we are considering to upload a new version of the following
source packages:

 * eclipse
 * eclipse-cdt
 * eclipse-mylyn

I am aware that it is a major new upstream release and it would have
limited amount of time in sid (if any at all) before the Debian
freeze. However, I believe that upstream's own freeze policy can
compenstate partly for this[2].
  They have already started their API freeze and in early May they
will begin their feature freeze. From there on, upstream will their
increasingly stricter "patch reviews"[3]

There doesn't seem to be anything left for us to do here, so closing.

Cheers,
