Thanks for the diligence.

The package is pretty simple, and the upstream code quite mature, so
upstream releases are very infrequent (every 18 months or so).
http://www.susqu.edu/brakke/evolver/evolver.html shows the last release
on January 1, 2008.

Apologies for letting the bugs go, I usually leave the emails marked
unread as a reminder, but saw them both about a week ago and failed to
switch them back to unread status, so they slipped through the cracks.
The fixes are pretty easy (I'll remove the pdf until I can get source
from upstream).

As for popularity, I personally know about 40 users of the .deb, though
some use it on Ubuntu, and most work for U.S. government labs with
network usage rules that prevent them from installing popcon...
