Regarding stable release update of mobile-broadband-provider-info

Hi Release managers and list,

The purpose of this mail comes from the below bug

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=641469

I always asked FFe to this package while there was release freeze when
debian 6.0 was under development and regularly updated the package

cf: http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2010/09/msg00268.html
    http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2010/11/msg00143.html
    http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2010/11/msg00145.html

Also from the README of the package it suggests that m-b-p-i is low risk:

"This package contains mobile broadband settings for different service providers
in different countries. The Package contains only informational files so it's
safe for distributions to grab updates even during feature freeze and
maintenance stages."

My request is can debian provide a freeze exception as ubuntu here

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#mobile-broadband-provider-info

to upload updates to backports or even squeeze directly?

PS: CC'ed are Antii who is the original author of the package and
Matthieu who is the co-maint in debian.

Waiting for your kind views on the same.

Regards,
