In the meantime Joss has uploaded a package which takes the alternative
approach and guards the calls. This does have the disadvantage of
generating an error message on the -maintscript-helper calls if dpkg
hasn't been upgraded and potentially leaving the user with a conffile
prompt for a change they didn't make (due to the "mv" having been
executed, but not -ms-h not having updated the conffiles list), but does
mean the upgrade will successfully result in only the new conffile being
present.
