Quoting Carsten Hey (carsten@debian.org): > for Squeeze, nor do I want to have it released with the old code and the > new code will not be allowed to enter Squeeze due the freeze happening I haven't really seen any statement from release team members about this. Would I have missed something? While I may understand that you can feel surprised by the announced freeze, this is, I think, something we all should have been prepared about for quite a while. Anyway, the last day mails in this mailing list have shown the RT understands the situation of those of us who were less prepared to a freeze....and thus easily ACKs freeze exceptions when they are properly argumented. And, imho, when it comes at deborphan, you apparently had good arguments. So, I don't really understand the need of throwing everything away so suddenly. Maybe you might want to reconsider the situation when reading Phil Kern's answer in this thread?
