Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org Usertags: rm nel is an orphaned library with no reverse dependencies and an RC bug. Lubos Novak and Michal Cihas have apparently done some work on updating to the latest upstream version, so hopefully if it stays in unstable the situation can improve, but I don't think there's any point in having it released in squeeze unless/until this happens. This would also allow stlport5.2 to be removed from testing; there's no particularly compelling reason why it needs to go, but it's under RFA, has no other reverse dependencies, and its WNPP bug, <http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=544035>, suggests removing it. The updated nel version mentioned in the nel WNPP bug appears to no longer use stlport. (nel and stlport5.2 maintainers, people involved in the nel WNPP bug, and previous nel sponsor Cc'd.)
