More notes about apt-xapian-index's freeze exception

Hello,

I've noticed that apt-xapian-index in lenny is 0.13, I thought it was
0.15.

There is a nontrivial change introduced in 0.15, which implements
appropriate handling of concurrent updates. This is quite important
because it allows a package manager to install apt-xapian-index and then
run an update showing progress, without conflicting (actually,
cooperating) with the index update automatically run with the package's
postinst.

It's a nontrivial change, but it's been there since August with no
apparent issues (except for #506766 which was fixed in 0.16 with a
rather simple patch). On the other hand, 0.13 has bigger problems
(#509819).

Ciao,

Enrico
