I do not know.  I just had it on my list of packages because I did a
NMU earlier to solve an issue related to dependency based boot
sequencing, and it was one of the three packages with RC issues on my
list, so I decided to fix it, in an effort to reduce the number of RC
issues in Lenny.

I am not sure it is still needed.  I am told by its author that SUSE
dropped it two years ago in favor pam_resmgr.

I hope its new maintainer evaluate it and decide if it should be
removed or not.  I guess removal require some transition plan for its
existing users.
