problem with: Changed priority of initscript for multipath-tools

Hello

Following the update of the stable distribution Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 (codename etch) we updated our servers on December 28th 2007.

We encountered a serious problem on our file server; due to the 'multipath-tools: Changed priority of initscript'.

If we booted with the new change, only part of the disk systems in our SAN were 'seen' by the file server. Although the server's behaviour was not always exactly the same, the fibre channel disk volumes were seen, but the sata disk volumes were not.

When we reverted the order of the startup script to what it was previously (/etc/rcS.d/S03multipath-tools-boot) everything worked fine again.

Could it be that something was overlooked here?

Kind greetings
