Thank you for keeping the release team in the loop.

Please hold off on uploading this library until the current version of
ffmpeg in unstable has reached testing. libquicktime is one of about 100
packages involved in the transition of ffmpeg as a result of new sonames in
multiple library packages; several of the libquicktime reverse-dependencies
are already involved in this transition, but some others are not yet, and
any new version of libquicktime in unstable right now (with or without
soname change) would further delay this very complex transition.

I know Marc Brockschmidt is actively working on managing this transition,
and I'm currently doing what I can to help with any necessary package
rebuilds in unstable, so with luck the transition will be cleared within a
week or so; but if it takes longer, your patience is even more important
because every additional day it takes us to finish the transition increases
the chances of the transition being badly disrupted by some upload by
another maintainer who hasn't taken the time to communicate with the release
team.

Thanks,
