Hi,

it seems that the bad python dependencies of this package are caused by
a broken build. I downloaded the package and the build generated the
correct python dependencies (>= 2.3) and (<< 2.4), so I think a binary
NMU will get rid of this problem.
I will send a copy to debian-release to request the binary NMU of
python-smbpasswd.
