Hm, seems that are many changes in here, anyone giving the possiblity of
a new issue? Would it be possible to backport the relevant changes and
upload via testing-proposed-updates?

given the package the benefit of doubt, I approved it - but, only as it
was uploaded before announcing the final freeze (in other words, pretty
near the boarder).
