It makes things a lot easier if you file bugs on packages needing
rebuild a bit more in advance, it's now a bit close to release... Giving
the maintainers of the depending packages a bit of warning in advance
makes transitions like this go smoother. I'm a bit unsure how to
proceed, cc'ing -release for opinion.

I'm myself inclined to remove it and file RC bugs on depending packages,
no packages having an upload since 2003 are still depending on this...

For the record:
** battfink has an unsatisfied dependency on alpha: liblinc1 (>= 1:1.0.0)
** cappuccino has an unsatisfied dependency on alpha: liblinc1 (>= 1:1.0.0)
** gnome-swallow-applet has an unsatisfied dependency on alpha: liblinc1 (>= 1:1.0.0)
** googlizer has an unsatisfied dependency on alpha: liblinc1 (>= 1:1.0.0)
** grcm has an unsatisfied dependency on alpha: liblinc1 (>= 1:1.0.0)
** quark has an unsatisfied dependency on alpha: liblinc1 (>= 1:1.0.0)
