Sure it does, there's just no devpts.sh init script for mounting the devpts filesystem.

Apropos to the rest of this thread, shortly before the release of glibc 2.1 and sometime around the time of the slink release, I mentioned on one of the libc lists that Debian/sparc was releasing with 2.0.105, Ulrich Drepper responded along the lines of "that's stupid, there have been a lot of bug fixes since then".
