FYI, it is in a perfectly pristine state at CRAN across all their systems
(including Debian, see [1]). On my main machine where I tend to upgrade CRAN
packages from source on a daily basis (via a script in littler aka
r-cran-littler) I seem to have updated this one too on August 6 when it was
released and had no issues.

It's somewhat tricky as reusing JS from other packages is of course "at least
in principle" the right approach but in practice it creates these issues and
a possible different experience for users.
