I've noticed in the recent builds of live images for sid that the KDE Welcome screen is not shown any more.

Am I too blind is there no actual console log..

It's a bit hidden: there has been no suitable screenshot, because of the missing Welcome dialog. The movie shows that the desktop is actually shown, but after some time it locks itself.

Upon further looking, it shows that 'plasma-nm' is not installed in the live images. There might be a conflict between 'libxmlsec1t64 1.2.41-1+b1' and 'libxmlsec1-1 1.3.7-2'.

... which show that conflict?

I guess I was looking at the wrong bits: I looked in aptitude after attempting to install 'plasma-welcome' and noticed two similarly named packages, so I incorrectly assumed a conflict here.

In any case, the xmlsec1 transition (https://release.debian.org/ transitions/html/auto-xmlsec1.html) does not mention anything KDEish either. And the only thing missing in rebuilds is libreoffice, whose rebuilds are ongoing.

And after I wrote this bug report, I found the transition page as well. Sorry for creating noise for an ongoing transition.

I wanted to have the openQA results greener again and was a bit too early in creating this bug report.

(BTW, libxmlsec1-1 is now the correct one and yes, it deliberately has a conflicts against libxmlsec1t64. Anything using libxmlsec1t64 needs to be rebuilt, but see above, it's almost done).

Then the results in openQA will soon reflect that :-)

With kind regards,
Roland
