yes there are currently issues surrounding the behaviour of the virtual keyboard.
Still if you’re using sddm-theme-breeze or our Debian-themed sddm-theme-debian-breeze the greeter is supposed to detect if you are on a tablet / laptop in tablet mode and only show the virtual keyboard then. Is it not the case for you ?
Or are you using some other SDDM greeter theme instead ? If that’s the case and you’re not on a touch device you may want to consider removing qt6-virtualkeyboard-plugin. Ideally upstream would fix their greeters to do the same as what breeze does.
