Package: plasma-framework Version: 5.115.0-6 Severity: important Tags: a11y X-Debbugs-Cc: paul.mabileau@harfanglab.fr, Aurélien COUDERC <coucouf@debian.org> Dear Maintainer, I'm under an up-to-date `testing` system and upgrading `libkf5plasma5` `libkf5plasmaquick5`, and `plasma-framework` from 5.115.0-5 to 5.115.0-6 yesterday broke my Plasma desktop. Indeed, all native windows had a darker background, spacing was pretty much removed, most icons were either non-existent or defaulting to Unicode variants from what I could tell, ... `latest-version.png` attached should show this. Also, the `System Settings > Appearance > Plasma Style` section was completely empty after the upgrade, which could be linked or even be the end cause. I would have expected things to remain intact instead. Reverting all three packages to their previous version fixes the issue after a reboot, or a lighter Plasma restart too, I guess. This can be seen in `previous-version.png`. I didn't find another way to restore the global display since all Plasma styles disappeared from the settings and it seemed like the prime culprit and lead for troubleshooting. Since this affects display, I added the a11y tag that seemed appropriate. Looking at the recent changelogs, it seems that a somewhat-experimental change regarding Plasma themes was introduced, then reverted, then brought back: could it be the actual cause? This seems likely to me since it is related to theming. If so, should it be reverted back again? I'm still under Plasma 5 and I don't think Plasma 6 is quite there yet as far as I can tell. Maybe the patch could also be made to work under both Plasma 5 and 6 *without* co-installation, as it should be a legitimate use case? I can serve as an experimentation platform and try out some development builds in order to obtain a working fix before uploading, if you want. Thanks in advance, Paul Mabileau. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.11.10-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_USER Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages plasma-framework depends on: ii kio 5.115.0-8 ii kpackagetool5 5.115.0-2+b1 ii libc6 2.40-3 ii libegl1 1.7.0-1+b2 ii libgcc-s1 14.2.0-8 ii libglx0 1.7.0-1+b2 ii libkf5activities5 5.115.0-3+b1 ii libkf5calendarevents5 5.115.0-3+b1 ii libkf5configcore5 5.115.0-2+b1 ii libkf5configgui5 5.115.0-2+b1 ii libkf5coreaddons5 5.115.0-2+b1 ii libkf5declarative5 5.115.0-3+b1 ii libkf5i18n5 5.115.1-2+b3 ii libkf5iconthemes5 5.115.0-2+b3 ii libkf5kiocore5 5.115.0-8 ii libkf5kiowidgets5 5.115.0-8 ii libkf5kirigami2-5 5.115.0-2+b2 ii libkf5notifications5 5.115.0-2+b1 ii libkf5package5 5.115.0-2+b1 hi libkf5plasma5 5.115.0-5 hi libkf5plasmaquick5 5.115.0-5 ii libkf5quickaddons5 5.115.0-3+b1 ii libkf5widgetsaddons5 5.115.0-2+b1 ii libkf5windowsystem5 5.115.0-2+b1 ii libkf5xmlgui5 5.115.0-2+b3 ii libopengl0 1.7.0-1+b2 ii libqt5core5t64 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii libqt5gui5t64 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii libqt5qml5 5.15.15+dfsg-3 ii libqt5quick5 5.15.15+dfsg-3 ii libqt5widgets5t64 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii libqt5x11extras5 5.15.15-2 ii libstdc++6 14.2.0-8 ii libx11-6 2:1.8.10-2 ii libxcb-composite0 1.17.0-2+b1 ii libxcb-damage0 1.17.0-2+b1 ii libxcb-render0 1.17.0-2+b1 ii libxcb1 1.17.0-2+b1 ii qml-module-org-kde-kconfig 5.115.0-3+b1 ii qml-module-org-kde-kquickcontrols 5.115.0-3+b1 ii qml-module-org-kde-kquickcontrolsaddons 5.115.0-3+b1 ii qml-module-qtqml-models2 5.15.15+dfsg-3 ii qml-module-qtquick-controls 5.15.15-2 ii qml-module-qtquick-controls2 5.15.15+dfsg-2 ii qml-module-qtquick-templates2 5.15.15+dfsg-2 plasma-framework recommends no packages. plasma-framework suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
