I can’t speak for all of the developers who work on the Qt WebEngine packages, but I can tell you that generally there is a much greater willingness to backport patches that have landed in Chromium but have not yet made it to upstream Qt WebEngine (but will eventually get there) than there is to patch Qt WebEngine in a manner that has not yet been implemented in upstream Chromium.
