AIUI the only reason this fails is due to the presence of the file
sources/qmake_qmake_qm_files.qrc under the top-level source directory
after the build, correct?

This file does not exist in the source tarball, so this is something
generated by qmake. It should follow that, logically, it’s also qmake’s
job to clean it up on debian/rules clean, right?

There does not seem¹ to be a corresponding bugreport in qmake yet.
Dear qmake maintainers, should I reassign this one or what would
you prefer?
