Package: akonadi-server
Version: 4:20.08.3-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

starting kmail is starting akonadiserver.

After a short while the system gets slower and slower until it is completely freezing at the end. I have to hard reset the system and reboot.

Examination showed, that the process akonadiserver is using 100 percent cpu power and is using all memory it gets including swap partition. This is independent, how much meory is built in (I checked with 16GB RAM).

If so, the system is no more usable, if any application is needing akonadi! So, this issue is not only important, this issue
is grave, critical, serious.

The system I am running is debian/bullseye (stable), but I tested and it is also existent in debian/bookworm (testing).

So it would be nice, if you could take an eye on it!

Thank you very much and

best regards

Hans
