Package: kde-spectacle Version: 16.04.3-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, as kde-spectacle is replacing ksnapshot, what happened is that completely silently, on an update, ksnapshot got deleted. So when I type "ksnap" in my launcher, nothing happens anymore. I think that for the transition, a soft link and a .desktop file should be provided for a while, because it's not very immediate to know that now one has to type a different thing. Transitions shouldn't silently delete commands. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.7.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to it_IT.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages kde-spectacle depends on: ii libc6 2.24-1 ii libkf5configcore5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5configgui5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5configwidgets5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5coreaddons5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5dbusaddons5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5declarative5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5i18n5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5kiocore5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5kiowidgets5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5kipi31.0.0 4:16.08.0-1 ii libkf5notifications5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5screen-bin 4:5.7.4-1 ii libkf5screen7 4:5.7.4-1 ii libkf5service-bin 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5service5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5widgetsaddons5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5windowsystem5 5.25.0-1 ii libkf5xmlgui5 5.25.0-1 ii libqt5core5a 5.6.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libqt5dbus5 5.6.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libqt5gui5 5.6.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libqt5printsupport5 5.6.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libqt5qml5 5.6.1-7 ii libqt5quick5 5.6.1-7 ii libqt5widgets5 5.6.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libqt5x11extras5 5.6.1-2 ii libstdc++6 6.2.0-2 ii libxcb-cursor0 0.1.1-3 ii libxcb-image0 0.4.0-1 ii libxcb-util0 0.3.8-3 ii libxcb-xfixes0 1.11.1-1.1 ii libxcb1 1.11.1-1.1 kde-spectacle recommends no packages. kde-spectacle suggests no packages. -- no debconf information

Dear ksnapshot user, ksnapshot has not been developed upstream for many years already, and Spectacle (available in the kde-spectacle package) replaced it upstream and also in Debian, starting from Debian 9 (Stretch). Since ksnapshot was removed from Debian more than 4 years ago, it is time to close all the open bugs for it. Spectacle, even if it does something similar to what ksnapshot did, is a totally different application started from scratch (and thus not sharing anything code-wise with ksnapshot); because of this, there is no point in moving all the ksnapshot bugs to Spectacle. Most probably you have been using Spectacle already for a few years; we recommend to report bugs and feature requests for it directly to the upstream bug tracker system: https://bugs.kde.org/, product "Spectacle". Thank you again for you report, -- Pino ToscanoAttachment: signature.asc
