I have user-name with utf8 characters called "człowiek.backupu".
First of all it is not displayed correctly in user names comboBox.
Secondly when I try to save I have error saying that user is unknown.

Dear Emil,

thanks for taking the time to report this bug and help make Debian better.

I tested your use case on the current stable version of Debian (10/buster) and 
it did work. So I think this has been fixed since the version you initially 
reported the bug against, and I propose to close this bug.

Feel free to retest and revert with more recent information if you can still 
reproduce the issue on your side.
