Heyho!

[[ I realize that this is probably not konqueror's fault but some other
component deep inside the KDE library maze. Reporting at my "entry
point" for lack of knowledge. So let's the reassign odissey start. ]]

I compiled the webkit kpart from svn:

  http://lists.debian.org/debian-kde/2009/04/msg00440.html

Which seemed to work, meaning: no errors until make install. So I have
it sitting în /usr/local.

First issue: I don't see it offered in konq. The webkitpart.desktop
file resides in /usr/local/share/kde4/services/ which, apparently, is
ignored by KDE. Solution: just copy it to ~/.kde/share/kde4/services.
Seems to work, since now I can chose the WebKit part in Konqueror.

But: it fails to load, with "shared library not found".

So it seems /usr/local/lib/kde4/, where the binary kpart resides, is
likewise not known to KDE :-(

(( yes, I realize I could just install into /usr, or even package it
properly, but OTOH /usr/local should be usable for locally installed
stuff ... ))

And hints?

cheers
