Package: kde-window-manager
Version: 4:4.7.4-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
   * What led up to the situation?
running kde 4.7.4 desktop and starting XBMC eden RC2
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
The XBMC 1080i video rendering did exibit av synchro problem when deinterlacing.
This was new as the box was correctly working before.

I first suppected XBMC code as its a prerelease but after searching, I fired a top
while XBMC was runing idle and discovered kwin was consumming about 57% CPU.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected more around 3% as when XBMC is not started. I started playing with
desktop effect configuration, disabling effect entirely and plying with advanced
option. All I was able was to degrade the situation even more transfering CPU useage
from kwin to Xorg for composition. The only thing that saved my day was to move from
OpenGL to Xrender for composing (was using OpenGL from day one without problem).

This is due to upgrade to either mesa 8.0 or nvidia 295.20 as I did upgrade both.
