Dear Maintainer,

I tried to setup some scripts that I need to be run when the session is started

I did so using systemsettings, however, when adding a script I get the
following error:

> Could not start process Unable to create io-slave:
> klauncher said Protocollo «file» sconosciuto.

Please note that I launched it using "LANG=C", but the UI was localized
regardless of that.

I tried manually creating symlinks in ~/.config/autostart/ but they are
ignored.

However it must be noted that they will be sourced, not executed in separate processes.
The upstream bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338242 fixed this issue by processing the ~/.config/autostart-scripts directory for non .desktop files. The fix is present in plasma-workspace since 5.4.0.
