Package: kwin-x11
Version: 4:5.8.2-1+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
with the nvidia driver (375.26-2) kwin sometimes starts flickering the
screen contents, especially the content of semi-transparent windows
starts flashing dark and bright until you stop compositing
(shift-alt-f12 hotkey).
I think this is a problem, which should be fixed in the stretch freeze
before kwin is fit for a stable distribution.

Got the 5.8.6 package. As of now no instability - will check over time to confirm the result.

Thanks for testing this!

Ok, I'm closing this issue with the current kwin version, it seems that this issue is somehow produced by the lack breeze at build time. This should be fixed now.

The only small issue appears when you switch to and from VT - the display appears corrupt for a small time but then everything is back fine.

This seems to be unrelated, it might be a small timeout in the video driver.

Happy hacking,
