The focus of the mouse is repeatedly stolen, e.g. when searching the menu for some secondsthe focus is stolen so that the menu get closed unexpectedly.

This happens for several programs like konqueror, digikam, firefox. Another times when using wine (this is an example too, for other occasions of this problem wine was not used), the focus get lost so that wine window get iconified.

I can't reproduce the issue, my random guess is that some application that you are running is requesting the focus, probably a "broken" actionable notification.

Applications can request the focus, and this is desirable in a number of situations, while at the same time it can be annoying or even a security concern if you are running apps that do this regularly. kwin allows you to change the way that it will deal with the new windows, or set the focus to follow the mouse, etc under the kwin configuration module. That's under systemsettings "Window Management" -> "Window Behaviour" -> "Focus". You might want to check these.

In any case, are you still able to reproduce this issue? Can you reproduce it with a new session using a new user?

Happy hacking,
