Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
I wanted to activate kwin effects like coverflow window switching As Ifound impossible to do, it still keep changing the windows with the traditional animation
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
I opened systemsettings, then in desktop effects, I checked "Cover flow window switch" and uncheked "traditional windows switch", finally "Apply" button. As I didn't noticed any change whe I switched windows, I close the session and started it again, and Then the session never starts, it keep with the animation of the beggining.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
I expected to start session as usual
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Session never starts, as I can reproduce this issue, everytime I change a desktop setting, any.
At least just session restart without system reboot.

This issue is not reproducible in stable so I'm closing the issue with the stable release. As far as I know this issue was fixed when kwin got a fallback to Xrender, and managed to handle opengl issues (around the 4.10 life cycle).

I'm sorry that this was not handled in a timely fashion.

Happy hacking,
