Package: plasma-desktop Severity: important Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? I installed Debian stretch from scratch and ran the updates. Installed iptables-persistent, ntfs-3g, plasma-desktop, dolphin, kwrite, kwin-x11, kscreen, sudo, and reportbug. I added /dev/sdb1 /media/Not_Encrypted ntfs-3g user, auto 0 0 to /etc/fstab and rebooted. When KDE starts up, I can go into the NTFS /media/Not_Encrpyted immediately through the CLI with no issues. If I try to access the partition through Dolphin, it takes exactly 4 minutes and 22 seconds to view the directory. It takes another 4 minutes and 22 seconds if I try to open a file. If I open Kwrite and attempt to open a file on the /media/Not_Encrypted partition, it also takes 4 minutes and 22 seconds to open it but can save the file immediately. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I reinstalled from scratch multiple times and got the same results with installing kde-plasma-desktop and kde-standard. I tried to use the PARTUUID, but got the same results. * What was the outcome of this action? Instant access through the CLI as expected. Any access through Dolphin or Kwrite takes exactly 4 minutes and 22 seconds. I have tested this with multiple installs. * What outcome did you expect instead? The NTFS partition should be instantly accessed through Dolphin, Kwrite, and other KDE apps just as it does through the CLI. I have the ntfs-3g package installed and the /etc/fstab configuration set up so that it should be instantly accessed. *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE= (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system)
