Using lightdm I could reproduce this. Actually, lightdm's reaction is a lot 
worse than sddm (lightdm ends up in an endless loop and prevents me from 
accessing a text console due to the whole VT switching).

So I guess that makes Xorg or nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver the main suspects?

I'll look into "apt-get source" and dpkg-buildpackage so that I can test 
this...
