Bug#843197: kde-full: Baloo is not installed with kde-full

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

So for now, there is no proper indexing tool for KDE?

Thanks

Currently baloo is not being maintained upstream [1], the amount of bugs concerning it are piling up [2]. Upstream is discussing a complete redesign of baloo or migrating to tracker (which is the gnome indexer). At the same time there is some effort to make the baloo libraries optional [3] (currently they are required to build plasma).

Knowing this, even though there are use cases for which baloo works well enough, I don't think that we should depend on or even recommend baloo.
