Bug#838284: dolphin: co-installed with dolphin4 & only dolphin has problem putting icon path in desktop links

Dear Maintainer,
Doing a dist-upgrade from wheezy to current version of stretch, I
ended up with two versions of dolphin installed: dolphin 4:16 and
dolphin4 4:16 - these are two different executables in /usr/bin with
different recent creation dates.
The package description for dolphin4 says that it replaces dolphin,
however dolphin 4.16 was also installed as the default in my
situation. In essence, I am reporting two different bugs - the first
is that both were installed, & the second is that only dolphin 4.16 &
not dolphin4 4.16 has an additional bug involved with created folder
view desktop links through the GUI.
When creating <link to application> through the GUI with dolphin, the
application works fine for choosing icons, in every case, but there
are a significant number of files where it fails to correctly write
the name/path of the chosen icon in the link file on the disk that it
creates. I am working in the default situation for using "Folder
View" with Plasma to create icons that show up on the desktop. This
involves creating link to application files in $HOME/Desktop. Here is
an example of a working version of the file for the konsole terminal
application:

In this case, the working icon path -
/usr/share/icons/oxygen/base/64x64/apps/utilities-terminal.png - was
manually edited by me after dolphin failed, leaving the text "Exec",
in that location.
This same failure pattern occurs for only some applications. Which
subset? The subset seems to be KDE applications & or Qt applications
such as
"packagesearch".
dolphin4 does not exhibit this bug. In each case, hand editing the
link file with the correct path to the chosen icon fixes the problem.
