Bug#841502: konsole: Profile persisting

Control: tag -1 + upstream

¡Hola Stefano!

Severity: normal

I have 2 profiles saved: 'terminal' (the default) and 'mutt' (used only for this MUA).

Also I have 2 shortcuts to open konsole and mutt: winkey + T for Konsole and winkey + M for mutt (I have set execute in konsole with '--profile mutt' in this case).

Until I use winkey+T KDE opens the terminal, but after I use winkey+M to open mutt then winkey+T still opens mutt (into a konsole with profile 'mutt') and when I close mutt also the konsole closes.

Same situation when I try to open konsole by kde menu or by alt+F2 but not if I launch konsole inside a open konsole.

I see, if you call konsole, it reuses the same konsole process that's already running and opens a new window of it (using a dbus action). The new window, in this case, uses the original command as defaults instead of the default profile. This happens when you launch the konsole desktop file (krunner and the apps menu will use it), if you call it from a command line a new konsole is launched.

This is an upstream bug, could you report this issue upstream (in https://bugs.kde.org, you'll need a bugzilla user for it).

If you do so, please add the url of the upstream bug to this bug.

Right mouse -> Switch Profile doesn't work.

This works fine for me. I'm using a shell and a Root profile (command /bin/su --login, appearance red on black). Switching profiles changes only the appearance, of course.

Happy hacking,
