Package: okular
Version: 4:15.08.3-1
Severity: important

I'm running a mix of testing and unstable. I update more or less once in a week. Since a few days okular doesn't
work anymore, e.g. the main window does not show up anymore. When I launch it, the program does not exit and it
just hangs without creating any window, but a simple CTRL-C is enough to kill it and give me the terminal back.
Here is all I get in the terminal:

$ okular
okular(29159)/kdecore (KSycoca) KSycocaPrivate::openDatabase: Trying to open ksycoca from "/var/tmp/kdecache-lucio/ksycoca4"
okular(29159)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:

okular(29159)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
okular(29159)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
[ here I can wait ages, but nothing happens ]
^C
$

I'm using XFCE.

I've found the cause of the problem and it has nothing to do with
okular. The problem was (is) that ifupdown2 fails to bring up the lo
interface. Bringing up lo by hand, okular starts working again, along
with other KDE apps.
