Bug#777206: [kdevelop] .xsession-errors is bloated when remote server is unavailable
Package: kdevelop
Version: 4:4.7.0-1
Severity: important
--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Dear maintainers:
This morning I found my Debian KDE session unresponsive. Digging a bit I found
.xsession-errors was huge up to 300 GB due to KDevelop pumping:
(cpp support) KDevelop::ParseJob::readContents: Could not open file 'fish://...'
for every single file in a project I'm developing and every few seconds (I'm
assuming that as there are no timestamps in the file).
The reason was I almost never close KDevelop sessions while every night I
shutdown the server where the project is being kept.
While it's fine to warn the user about a bunch of files not been available it
should be better to take a less aggresive approach when coping with
unavailable remote projects.
Kind regards,
Antonio
