Bug#775415: korganizer: Calendar loses data

Package: korganizer
Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3+b1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

we observed that KOrganizer loses data and gets out of sync with what is stored
on the hard disk.

We run KOrganizer with many different calendars, which meanwhile are all stored
on the local hard disk. We use BackInTime to produce hourly backups.

As long as KOrganizer stays open everything looks smooth. After rebooting the
machine, we frequently see loss of data - left alone what we probably don't see
immediately.

Tracing the situation with a lost event in the backups revealed that for some
unknown reason the event was lost on hdd on Jan 7th in betwen 1 pm and 2 pm. It
was still available on screen this morning, i.e. more than a week later! After
re-boot it is gone, since it is not on disc.

No uncommon behaviour of KOrganizer was observed on the 7th. The program was
used during that day, but the lunch break may have fallen into the time in
question.

There was much more data lost. Not only the complete loss of files, but also
updates of existing events vanished. It is not yet clear, whether the data loss
hapened at the same time. I did not yet have had the time to analyze the
contents of the files. Finding files which suddenly vanish was much easier. ;)
