Package: phonon
Version: 4:4.5.2-2
Severity: important

On a fresh install when the user logs in the first time into kde4, the startup-sound plays as normal (but the volume-icon won't show up!). In kde system settings -> multimedia, the audio test with the sound card (first entry) works fine.

However, when doing a clean reboot and logging in the same user again, phonon shows a notification that there's a problem with the sound card and it will fall back to PulseAudio:

Notification from Phonon: KDE's Multimedia Library
The audio playback device NVidia CK804 with ALC850 does not work.
 Falling back to PulseAudio.

After this notification, the volume is reset to zero. Sound works (I guess via PulseAudio, don't know) when set to a higher volume again. This happens on every reboot (not when just logged out and logged in again).
