Bug#709642: okular: cursor for annotations mode should allow precise positioning

Package: okular
Version: 4:4.8.4-3
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

okular should use a crosshair cursor for the annotation tools. This would make
the annotation feature a lot more convenient to use.

when I activate the annotation bar with F6 okular automatically changes to
browse mode. This mode displays the cursor as a hand symbol.

When I then activate any of the annotation tools, the cursor symbol is still a
hand. This is unfortunate, as placement is important for many of the annotation
tools. If I want to underline a line via the straight line tool, I want to be
able to place the cursor precisely. The hand cursor however makes that very
difficult, als the point that is marked is in the middle of the hand but the
hand covers this point and the sourroundings.

The cursor should have a symbol that allows for precise placement. A crosshair
symbol would be ideal for this but even the usual up arrow would be a big
improvement over the hand symbol.

This issue is present in Okular version 0.14.3/KDE Platform 4.8.4 as well as in
the development version Okular 0.16.60 which I compiled from source pulled from
git.

On a side note, xournal displays the cursor as a 2 by 2 pixel square which
allows for very precise positioning but can make the cursor very difficult to
locate again if you loose track of it.
