lspci tells the following:
$lspci
...
02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G92 [GeForce GTS 250] (rev a2)
...

My xorg.conf doesn't contain anything except that I want to use the proprietary NVIDIA driver.

Can't check that because i doesn't have another display manager installed.

Trying this gave the following results:
It does happen with openGL 2.0.
It doesn't happen with XRender.
It doesn't happen with openGL 3.1.

It fails if I switch from another TTY (even if there's only one xserver running), waking up from hibernation or switching from another xserver, but only with openGL-2.0.
