Package: kalgebra
Version: 4:4.8.4-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I am experiencing very strange and incorrect simplifications of symbolic
expressions which I enter in KAlgebra.

For example, if I enter the expession "2-(x+2-2*x)", I would expect the
expression to be simplified to "x".

Instead, this is what happens:

If I enter the above expression into the console, it is changed to
"2-(x+2)-2*x" and the result is printed as "-x" (Which neither fits the
original formula nor the modified one). If I enter the expression in the
2D Graph tab, the plot shows the graph of f(x) = -x

Ah, thanks for explaining this last point. I'm normally more used to users
using testing/unstable, so sometimes I miss this point.

OK, I've tested your example and works fine here using 4.11.3, so I'm closing
it against this last version (which means the bug remains open for stable).

Saddly I don't think this bug amerits an RC severity, nor I know if the fix is
trivial enough for letting it go to stable :-(

Kinds regards, Lisandro.
