Like Stefanos, I get the same issue since today consequent to my daily Debian testing updates.
Akonadi is in an incoherent state and the new Kmail does not work, I use postgres backend too.
I downgraded the library /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt4/plugins/sqldrivers/libqsqlpsql.so by overwriting with the content of this package http://snapshot.debian.org/package/qt4-x11/4%3A4.8.4%2Bdfsg-4/#libqt4-sql-psql_4:3a:4.8.4:2b:dfsg-4 and all works better.
