Hi,

I've reported a similar bug upstream [0] some time ago, but despite its
current status, it hasn't really been fixed or resolved.

	0: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256035

Worst: Lokalize is able to break PO files, and if one use a weird build
system (e.g. that pipes the msgcat result into the source PO file), it
even causes data loss (and yes, it's a real life experience).

Please find attach a working test file (/tmp/fr_ok.po), and its result
once edited in Lokalize (/tmp/fr_lok.po).

$ LANG=C msgfmt /tmp/fr_ok.po
$ LANG=C msgfmt /tmp/fr_lok.po
/tmp/fr_lok.po:19: end-of-line within string
/tmp/fr_lok.po:17: missing `msgstr' section
/tmp/fr_lok.po:19:4: syntax error
/tmp/fr_lok.po:20: end-of-line within string
msgfmt: found 4 fatal errors

Regards

David

It should have been fixed in some RC of KDE 4.8, and indeed I cannot
reproduce your issue with the lokalize currently in testing (4.8.4).
Hence, closing accordingly with the version of 4.8 available in Debian.

Thanks for your report,
