Bug#692069: knotify: knotify crashes during desktop startup or shutdown.

Hello,

I applied all updates that accumulated from 16.10.2012 when the system was installed to 12.11.2012. dpkg.log is huge for the update (1.6 MB) as I manually downloaded and reinstalled all packages. If you wish I can attach it.

$ dpkg -l '*vlc*' | grep ^ii
ii  libvlc5                              2.0.3-3                              i386         multimedia player and streamer library
ii  libvlccore5                          2.0.3-3                              i386         base library for VLC and its modules
ii  phonon-backend-vlc                   0.6.0-1                              i386         Phonon VLC backend
ii  vlc                                  2.0.3-3                              i386         multimedia player and streamer
ii  vlc-data                             2.0.3-3                              all          Common data for VLC
ii  vlc-nox                              2.0.3-3                              i386         multimedia player and streamer (without X support)
ii  vlc-plugin-notify                    2.0.3-3                              i386         LibNotify plugin for VLC
ii  vlc-plugin-pulse                     2.0.3-3                              i386         PulseAudio plugin for VLC

The other command returns no output.

Best Regards,
Andrej Mernik

Update of what? Looking at the apt and dpkg logs might help here.

Please paste the outputs of
$ dpkg -l '*vlc*' | grep ^ii
$ dpkg -l '*' | grep ^ii | grep -- -dmo

Note that if you have libvlc packages with a -dmo version suffix, then
please switch them with proper vlc packages from the Debian archive.
