Package: phonon-backend-gstreamer
Version: 4:4.3.1-1
Severity: important
After an automatic update, sound stopped working. Since that moment it was not possible to reproduce any sound at all again, but the one used during the
KDE (v4.2) session start. Just next, this notification came up:
Phonon :KDE's Multimedias Library
Audio playback HDA Intel (ALC880 Analog) does not work.
Falling back to default.
I checked the existing packages and realized that phonon-backend-xine was not installed so I tried with it, but that didn't solve the problem. Even
changing the priority through System Settings->Multimedia->Backends no sound was played.
There must be some kind of conflict between both backends, because sound came back just after uninstalling gstreamer backend and its dependencies.
